A brief introduction to changing your name by Deed Poll.

It has been possible to change names by Deed Poll since 1760, but only a decade ago, just 15,000 people did so each year. So far this year (October 2008), The Legal Deed Service has changed more than 3,130 adult, and 2,700 children's, names.
