Terms and Conditions of Service

This page lists the terms and conditions of service in addition statutory information pertaining to your rights in pursuance of the Consumer Protection (Distance Selling) Regulations 2000. These terms and conditions will be governed by and construed in accordance with English law, and any disputes relating to these terms and conditions shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England. By accessing this website you agree to the terms and conditions set out herein.

1. Mistakes

If we make a mistake we will rectify the mistake and issue new documentation by first-class post - free of any charges.

2. Legal Copies

A Legal Copy is an official copy of the original Deed Poll. If you need them - you can request legal copies when you apply for your Deed Poll.

3. eCopy

We will send you a copy of your Deed Poll, by email, within four hours of the payment being received by us. If your eCopy is not delivered within four-hours - you are entitled to apply for a refund but only if you submitted your application between the hours of 9am and 5pm, Monday to Friday. You are not entitled to a refund if your eCopy is delivered BEFORE you apply for the refund. Your refund request should be sent to: london@legaldeedpolloffice.org.uk

4. Additional Free Services

Included in the price of every Deed Poll are the following free services:

·         Free Letter-Templates

·         1 x Free Legal Certified Copy

·         1 x Free eCopy (see section 5 above)

·         Free Archiving Service

5. The Guarantee

We guarantee that your Deed Poll documentation will be accepted by all UK Government departments, organizations and companies. If an organization ever refuses your Deed Poll - all you need to do is provide us with a letter from the relevant organization and, without hesitation, we will refund your money in full.

The guarantee does not apply in the following circumstances:

  • You have not properly signed the Deed Poll with the appropriate witness
  • You provided us with false information

Your Rights and Our Responsibilities

The following is provided in accordance with the Consumer Protection (Distance Selling) Regulations 2000. A copy of which can be viewed by clicking here

1. Cancellation Rights

The Consumer Protection (Distance Selling) Regulations 2000 give you the right to cancel your application within seven days of submission. Because we prepare your Deed Poll documentation before the expiration of the seven day period, the regulations stipulate that you must cancel your order BEFORE the order is processed by us. All applications are processed within four-hours of the application being received by us. In pursuance of section 13.1.A The Consumer Protection (Distance Selling) Regulations 2000, because we will prepare your personalised documentation today, by submitting an order to us, you agree to waive your right to cancel within the seven day period.

2. Fee's and Payment

V.A.T is charged at 17.5% as from 1st January 2010.

Payment can be made online by credit or debit card, by cash at any UK Halifax Branch or by cash at one of our offices.

3. Delivery   

We will post your Deed Poll document to the address provided on your application form. If you submit your application before 4.30pm on any working day - your documentation will be dispatched on the same day.

We offer the following delivery services:

·         1st Class

·         Recorded Delivery

·         Special 9am Delivery

·         Special 1pm Delivery

·         Airsure Delivery (for overseas clients)

7. Force Majeure

The Legal Deed Service Limited will not be held liable for any failure to provide our services if the failure to do so is a direct or indirect consequence of an act of God, riot, war, civil unrest, official or unofficial industrial action, flood or other cause beyond our reasonable control.
